A day in Stockholm (Throwback)

Today I'm taking you back in time, to January, when me and my best friend spent a day in Stockholm. It was a cold day, but the sun lit our way for the entire time. If you'd like to see a little collage video that I did on my Youtube-channel about this trip, I will link it to the end of the post.

First stop: Old Town aka Gamla Stan

If you're ever planning to visit Stockholm, do not miss this! The Old Town is filled with small alleys, cute cafes and beautiful old buildings, which take your breath away. There is a certain feeling in this kind of place, something you can't quite explain. Calmness and coziness. Something you just need to experience yourself to fully understand.

We wandered and wandered on the little streets, bought postcards and took endless amount of pictures. What I love about Stockholm is that everything is near to each other. We never really planned where we were going, we just found everything by accident. That's what made it so exciting. A new, strange city, enough time and a love for adventure.

Next stop: Stockholm Center

Me, the ultimate Christmas lover, couldn't feel more happy about the still remaining holiday decorations which hanged right above the shopping boulevards.

Yeah, this candy store actually exists.

Can we just take a moment to appreciate and marvel the incredible architecture that lies within this city. I mean, I could have watched those buildings for the rest of the day.

Okay, so one of our biggest missions was to find the perfect coffee house, for enjoying a cup of hot cocoa. It was harder then we thought. And not because there wouldn't have been enough cafes in this city, because I assure you, there was. But I guess we were just really determined to find the perfect place with the perfect hot cocoa, that we got a little demanding. Eventually, we did find the perfect place with the perfect hot cocoa. This one.

I've always had a weird passion for whipped cream. So, when I go to cafes, I always expect to have the best whipped cream in town, or nothing. And this cafe served that first one.
If you ever travel to any big city, make sure to have a breathing break. Whether you're in a huge, pompous city like New York, or in a bit smaller one, like Stockholm, it's never a bad idea to just rest your feet and chill before you go on. Visiting this mall, called Galleri, was that break for us. And it was surely needed.

We spent the rest of the day shopping. Neither of us felt like going crazy with clothes or waste a lot of time in line to the register, so instead, we just enjoyed everything else and left the shopping to the minimal. Obviously we did visit some stores and do some good finds, but we realized from the beginning that spending money wasn't why we came here. So, after buying our souvenirs and something nice for ourselves too, we decided to end the day there.

Visiting this city was one of my best experiences from 2016 (so far) and I recommend it to all of y'all. Cities like this have loads to offer and you can get so much out of them even with a limited time.
My favorite thing about Stockholm was the fact that you never knew what you would find behind each corner. Every street was a new experience, every building had a story to tell and even the people in this city, had warm and kind hearts. And what I loved the most, were the moments when we got lost. See, when you are lost, you never know what to find.

An entry to culture

An entry to culture indeed! Me and my lovely friend visited Kiasma the other day, a Finnish museum of modern art, right in the heart of Helsinki. Not only did we adore the new exhibit, but we also got a lot of photographing done. And here is the result:

This was my personal favorite from all the works of art. Pearls upon pearls upon pearls. In a way, this reminded me of the ideal world. We all have our own colors and shapes, but we are all still connected to each other, depending on the other's support. If you snap the string from any point, all of the pearls are going to fall, no matter what. That's how much we need each other. And the fact that the pearls are different from each other is what makes this piece of art so interesting. Same dealio with humans.

What I think we both learned from this day, was that the best pictures are the ones taken accidentally. So, when taking photos, I recommend to just be yourself and relax. Who knows, somewhere among hundreds of pictures, you may just find the perfect one.

Day in the City 🎠

Yesterday me and one of my dear friends spent an afternoon on the city streets. Photographing, talking and constantly running back inside, escaping from the cold. We did eventually end up capturing some really nice pics which I felt like sharing with you all today.

But first things first, can we just have a moment to appreciate and admire her hair? I mean, seriously.

This city always finds a way to surprise and inspire me. We spent a little time finding the perfect place to take our pictures, but the place we ultimately landed on was actually found accidentally. There we were, just casually walking on the cold streets of Helsinki, when we realized how beautiful the street actually was. So we stopped and captured it.

Surprise birthday picnic

Today I'm taking you back to couple weeks ago when me and my friends threw a little surprise assemblage to one of our gal pals. A beautiful sunny day, wonderful company and great treats. What a perfect way to celebrate your friend's 17th birthday. But the best part was seeing her face when she realized what was going on. Truly a day to remember.

Picnics are the best way to make sure everyone gets what they want. It also makes everything a lot easier and cheaper if you divide your grocery shopping: one brings drinks, the other one sweets and the third one brings something salty. And you can't have a picnic without some fresh fruits or berries!

The fact that we were outside gave us the perfect opportunity to have  a little photo shoot.

The birthday girl giving us a lesson on ballet. All we can do is be astonished and admire.

At the end of the day we were filled with happiness, laughter and unforgettable memories. It really is amazing how something so simple can make a human being so happy.

Spring room details 🌻

Spring décor is filled with light, colors and cute little details, that actually make a huge difference. And the same thing with life! Everyone is feeling happier, sun is out 'til the late hours and the nature is showing us little signs that truly prove summer is getting closer and closer. This post is a little sneak peek to my room and to the decoration that I've chosen to have. Feel free to get inspired and use these ideas in your own spring and summer room! Also, if you'd like to see these pictures in motion, go to my Youtube-channel and have a look at my Spring Décor video!

Old magazines = new décor! Look for some bright and cool magazines or books and lay them out! Who cares if you don't read them? As long as they're pretty to look at.

Print, cut, draw! The possibilities are endless!

Display your lovely memories. They don't only make you smile and put you into a better mood, but they're also a great conversation starter for you and your quests.

Fresh flowers are the best way to bring life to your space. They're rather cheap, or you can even grow them yourself! It's surprisingly exciting to follow your plants journey from a tiny little seed to something real and living. Both the seeds and the little pots at the following pictures are from the Danish store chain, Tiger.

I love mirrors for many reasons. Not only do they make your room look bigger, but they also come in so many colors, sizes and shapes. Who would have thought that mirror shopping would turn out to be fun?

You've probably seen a lot of pictures and diy-videos about the famous "Polaroid-banners". If you don't own a Polaroid camera, not to worry! You can just cut little pictures from some random magazines and attach them to a thin rope, and done! It looks just as "Tumblr" as the original one.

Your room is like a mirror to your soul. Cheesy, but it's kinda true. What ever you lay out and use to spice up your room, can tell a lot about you. So, why wouldn't you have a little fun? Make your room YOURS. Ultimately, its you sleeping in it.
